My Top Skincare Products

Do you have dry, dull, acne-prone skin? Well if you do, then you can relate. I have struggled for years with scaly, flaky skin that clings to makeup and looks as if I’m a long lost relative of some sort of reptile. I don’t know why I went so many years thinking this is just how my life was going to be; dry and dull. I made excuses on why I couldn’t spend the little money I made on skincare products and I honestly didn’t believe I was worth it. Boy was I wrong! Please don’t be like me, invest in yourself. YOU ARE WORTH IT.

No one wants wrinkles and skin that you do not feel comfortable in. And who knew I would still be struggling with acne at age 28? I sure didn’t. I thought if anyone else was struggling and didn’t know where to start with skincare, I would share my routine. These are all products I swear by and they really work! I no longer have to suffer daily with dry skin and I now have the tools to kick my acne in the butt when it decides to be a pain in my ass.  LOVE yourself and the skin you’re in. Are you sold?? 52440752Simple Micellar Cleansing Water for Dehydrated Dry Skin – $8.99:
This product makes removing your makeup so easy! I remember the days where I would scrub my face and still not be able to get my makeup off. I have tried drug store to high-end makeup removers and nothing compares to this. And it’s cheap! It says there is no need to rinse afterwards, but I always rinse and/or follow with a cleanser. The wipes this company makes are wonderful too, but  I feel like the bottle is more environmentally friendly and you get more uses out of it.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser – $24.00:
I have had a really hard time finding a cleanser that doesn’t break me out, dry me out, and has enough power to remove excess makeup. I always come back to this cleanser. And it lasts forever because all you need is a dime sized amount.

Mario Badescu Skin Care – Facial Spray With Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea – $7.00:
This is a new recent love of mine! This product balances out my skin. I use this after cleansing and before moisturizing. It refreshes my skin and feels hydrating and gives a nice cool feeling. This is good for all skin types and can be used before moisturizer or throughout the day to freshen up skin and/or makeup. Oh, and did I mention it’s cheap?!

Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment With Salicylic Acid – $5.99:
This product has me shook! If you struggle with acne this is the perfect spot treatment. This shortens the life of my acne by days. Super affordable way to zap those mother effers.

Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Moisturizer – $39.00:
I use this moisturizer about 2-3 times a week. Be careful though, it does contain salicylic acid so do not wear this when you plan to be out in the sun because it can increase chances of getting sunburned. Since I have dry skin I was scared this product would dry me out, but it surprisingly is very moisturizing. The price on this bad boy can be scary, but with only using a pea-sized amount 2-3 times a week, this thing is going to last me all year!

My Morning Serum – Ole Henriksen Truth Serum – $48.00:
Ouch! This price hurts. I got this as a deluxe sample from Sephora and just ran out. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. But I don’t know if I can justify spending almost $50. I use this serum in the mornings after I wash my face prior to moisturizer. Vitamin C serums are a great way to brighten dull/tired skin. This is why I love incorporating this into my morning routine. Check out the links below for other good brightening serums that are more affordable:

Derma E Vitamin C Serum – $24.50:

Andaulou Naturals Enlight Serum – $24.99:

Ulta Radiant Skin Brightening Serum – $22.50:

My Morning Moisturizer – Andalou Naturals Probiotic + C Renewal Cream – $24.99:
This moisturizer contains vitamin c, which again, is used to brighten dull and tired skin. This moisturizer is lightweight and perfect to wear underneath your makeup. No one wants to feel like a grease ball all day!

My Morning Eye Cream – Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream – $31.00:
I don’t struggle with dark spots under my eyes, but I will take all the brightening and depuffing I can get. This cream gets the job done!

My Night Time Serum – Tarte Maracuja Oil – $48.00:
I love this stuff! I use this serum at bedtime after cleansing my face and prior to applying moisturizer. This serum isn’t too thick and greasy and has never broken me out. I owe my now non-reptile skin to this product and the one below…..

My Night-time Moisturizer – Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – $39.00:
This is my holy grail and worth every penny. If you have dry skin and want to splurge on one item, buy this. This is the #1 product that has saved my life.

Farmacy Lip Bloom – Lavender Mint – $16.50: I always end my morning and night routines with a lip balm. I’ve been loving this one, it is made in the USA and soooo delicious! Price is a little unnecessary but it’s fun to splurge on yourself. This balm looks like a lip gloss and feels like a chapstick. Tastes delicious too, just ask your partner….

TIP: You can get up to 3 free samples per trip to Sephora. So…..if you see anything you might like, go to Sephora and test it out before you spend the money!
